Let's eat: Penang Road Famous Toechew Chendul

Their story:

It was established out of love for family when its founder, Tan Teik Fuang learned making and began selling Chendul at Penang Road back in 1936. Believing that his business will help make a living for his family, he established it with diligent hands that prepared Chendul passionately.

He ensured that its quality is always good while remaining humble and friendly to his loyal customers. He believed that a local favorite can stand the test of time and will be loved by many.

Through the years Penang Road Famous TeoChew Chendul has managed not just to live its rich history but create it; from a roadside Chendul stall to Penang Asam Laksa, to Rojak, to opening Chendul outlets and much more.

Today, Mr. Tan Chong Kim together with his family is living its legacy to bring simple happiness by providing the best and freshest Chendul to their customers.

Before we going back home, we decided to choose Penang Road Famous Toechew Chendul as a sample of comparison. We chose to compare the differences of their famous Asam Laksa and Teh Tarik Place's Asam Laksa.

Penang Road Famous: Teochew Chendul gave the popular dessert a signature taste that every local is attracted to. They serves special Penangites desserts and snacks. They provides the best quality of chendul in Malaysia.

At Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul, we ordered the both signatures, Asam Laksa and the original Chendul.

When you are visiting Penang Road Famous, don't forget to try both below.

Penang Road Famous Asam Laksa

The Chendul/Cendol

Based on our personal taste, for this bowl of chendul, we would like 9/10 because it meets our satisfaction from the green worm-like jelly, red beans and kidney beans were properly cooked and lastly sufficient and fragrantful of gula melaka.

The Asam Laksa was good, but the Asam Laksa at Teh Tarik Place was better (Based on our personal taste).

Other than that, at Penang Road Famous, you also can find Penang Curry Mee, Teochew Rojak, Teochew snacks and also several of beverages.

What we says:

Their staff are efficient and friendly even at peak hours. For the cleanliness it must be worth more as it is hard to find a cheap and clean place. The Asam laksa was delicious. The service was great and fast.

Thanks to their cooperation
